The development of literary translation is an important priority of Dom Tvorchestva Peredelkino and a cornerstone of this residency programme. Every month, six translators spend a week in residence where they work on their translation, benefit from each other's expertise and feedback, and attend lectures.

In 2021, Dom Tvorchestva held six translation residencies: poetry and drama in English, poetry and prose in French, poetry and prose in German.

In June-August 2022, the following events will take place:

• May 18-24: Literature in Japanese (curated by Ekaterina Ryabova, translator)
• June 6-12: Literature in Chinese (curated by Alexei Rodionov, Ph.D. in Philosophy, Associate Professor of the Eastern Faculty of St. Petersburg State University)
• July 18-25: Literature in Spanish (Latin America) (curator: Daria Sinitsina)
• August 22-28: Literature in Korean (curators: Jung In Soon, Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology of the Countries of Southeast Asia, Korea and Mongolia, ISAA MSU; Elena Kondratieva, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Philology of the Countries of Southeast Asia, Korea and Mongolia, ISAA MSU, Associate Professor at the Institute of the Classical Orient and Antiquity)

Topics for the next translation residencies will be announced later.

We invite applications from professional translators.

Residents must be at least 18 years of age and of any citizenship.

Alumni of previous years are also eligible to apply.

Applications for a translation residency must include a bibliography, links to published works, and translation samples.

You can apply for each type of residency once a year. It means that you can apply for both an individual residency and a translation residency within the same year, but you cannot apply for several translation residencies.

Application deadlines for translation workshops in June-August 2022:

May. Literature in Japanese – until March 31
June. Literature in Chinese – until March 31
July. Literature in Spanish (Latin America) – until May 20
August. Korean Literature – until May 20

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

The list of participants will be announced no later than 4 weeks before the start of the residency. Participants will receive an email with confirmation of participation and instructions.
