We are following the tragic events with great concern and stand together with those who want peace. We cannot remain indifferent, and we believe our public programme must reflect that. For now we cancel all our upcoming public events to give us a time off to rethink our approach. And still, we find it crucial to continue our efforts of supporting writers, translators and artists and helping them reflect on these events in their creative works. This is now a greater need than ever. Russian literature has always been about creation not destruction. We will keep accepting applications for residency programmes and we will do what we can to make them happen. We stand for peace. For open and beautiful world. The world which resolves conflicts with words, not weapons.
